چکیده

The variability of the Hadley Circulation (HC) is greatly impacted by meridional structure sea surface temperature (SST), which has varied effects depending on its symmetrical or asymmetrical pattern relative to equator. By using Coupled Comparison Program International Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) model outputs and reanalysis datasets, this study assesses capacity CMIP6 models simulate relationship between HC tropical SST under different structures, as well investigates possible causes for simulation biases. It shown that can successfully reproduce climatological HC, SST, their spatial patterns first leading modes where correlation coefficient simulations observations reaches 0.8 above. comparison, exhibit substantial differences in simulating response over with obvious inter-model differences. Considering capability response, are divided into two types, Type I II model. Models those whose results basically close data, biases being less than 20%. simulated ratios much stronger reanalysis. found overestimate intensity El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events, remarkably underestimate equatorial symmetric part, resulting inability capture connection SST. indicate that, component reproducing ENSO events a considerable impact relationship, offers recommendations enhancing large-scale air-sea interactions.

relationships between arab sea and indian ocean surface temperature anomalies with precipitation over southern of iran

iran is located in arid and semiarid areas based on continental divisions; any change in precipitation would have potential effects on agriculture, economic and other related issues in general. therefore, it is of high importance to know and identify the moisture-related sources needed to study the country’s precipitation data. for this purpose, it is important to correlate monthly precipitatio...

Simulated Sea Surface Salinity variability in the tropical Pacific

[1] Sea Surface Salinity (SSS) variability from a hindcast run of an oceanic general circulation model (OGCM) forced by daily NCEP-NCAR reanalysis from 1990 to 2001 is analyzed. The purpose is to test the capability of the model in terms of the salinity simulation and provide insights for the future SSS observation from space. With daily forcing, the model can reproduce SSS change of the tropic...

Equilibrium temperature distribution and Hadley circulation in an axisymmetric model

The impact of the equilibrium temperature distribution, θE, on the Hadley circulation simulated by an axisymmetric model is studied. The θE distributions that drive the model are modulated here by two parameters, n and k, the former controlling the horizontal broadness and the latter controlling the vertical stratification of θE. In the present study, variations in the θE distribution mimic cha...

The Hadley Circulation and the Weak Temperature Gradient Approximation

The weak temperature gradient (WTG) approximation is applied to simple shallow-water models of the Hadley circulation. While it is difficult to formally justify the use of the WTG approximation for this problem, the derived WTG solutions are shown to agree well with numerical solutions of the full equations and to converge to the traditional angular momentum conserving (AMC) solutions in the in...

Impact of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) on Arctic Surface Air Temperature and Sea-Ice Variability

The simulated impact of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) on the low frequency variability of the Arctic Surface Air temperature (SAT) and sea-ice extent is studied with a 1000 year-long segment of a control simulation of GFDL CM2.1 climate model. The simulated AMOC variations in the control simulation are found to be significantly anti-correlated with the Arctic sea-ice ex...
